by mothers went to a particular issue (as one of the 'top 3'
in parenting teens/preteens)

by FATHERS went to a particular issue (as one of the 'top 3'

votes by STEPPARENTS/other caregivers

by STEPPARENTS AND OTHER CAREGIVERS went to a particular issue
(as one of the 'top 3' in parenting teens/preteens)
Caregiver differences:
The chart shows
that mothers and fathers are generally in agreement about
the 'top 3' issues inparenting teens and preteens, but that fathers
felt even more strongly than mothers that "bad attitude,
lack of respect" was a significant issue, whereas a greater
proportion of mothers than fathers felt that "academic
problems" was a significant parenting issue. The remaining
three issues charted showed no significant differences betwen
mothers and fathers.
Stepparents and other caregivers (mostly it was stepparents who responded
in this category) showed significant differences from the mothers
and fathers in that they rated "lying" (rather than
"academic troubles") as their second most important
issue after "bad attitude, lack of respect," and stepparents/other
caregivers did not include "sibling relations"
as an important issue at all.
