Parents and caregivers voted for their TOP 3 issues, from a field of 26. (See Poll) We received 217 non-duplicative returns during March, April, and May. A total of 196 were valid (not more than 3 issues chosen). As in the prior poll, the issue most frequently included as being among the TOP 3 for parents rearing teens and preteens is "attitude-respect." The Parenting Issues and Teen Polls are run continuously at this site and results are posted quarterly. (Click on the underlined text to vote in current poll.) But whereas "chores" and "breaking rules" followed "attitude" and "respect" in the prior poll, in the current poll "attitude-respect" as one factor is followed by "academics" and "moods." "Knows it all" is in 4th place. The old runners-up--"chores" and "breaking rules"--came in 9th and 7th, respectively, this time around. 5th and 6th place were taken this time by "won't accept consequences" and "sex"/"breaking rules" which each got the same number of votes.
