1. The figures at the left (0-70) represent percentages.
2. The words along the bottom of the chart abbreviate the names of parenting issues that received at least 10% of the total votes cast as those participants think are the "top 3" issues in parenting their teens/preteens:
3. First look at the blue bars; these tell you the percentage of all respondents to the poll who chose a particular issue as among their "top 3." For instance, "attitude" is selected as a "top 3" issue by more than 50% of all respondents, while "peer influence" was selected as a "top 3" issue by about 10% of all poll respondents.
4. Each of the other colored bars, red, green, and yellow, tell you the percentage of children in each age group with respect to whom a particular issue was chosen by poll respondents as among their "top 3" parenting issues. (Age groups are: preteen, ages 10-12; teen, ages 13-20; or "both" for participants who are parenting both teen and preteen-age children.)
For instance, look at the red and {green} bars; these tell you the percentage of poll respondents parenting teens and {preteens} who voted for a particular issue as one of their "top 3." You can see, for instance, that about 45% of poll respondents parenting teens choose "attitude" as a "top 3" issue, while more than 60% of poll respondents parenting preteens voted for "attitude" as a "top 3" parenting issue.
