Outstanding public-service site offering the results of research into the social status of the nation's children. One of their latest publications is "When Teens Have Sex." You can view many of their reports online (including the one referenced here) and/or order free hard copies. Each year their major report, Kids Count, gives statistics on such indicators of social wellbeing of children as infant mortality rate; rate of teen death by accident, homicide, suicide; rate of teens who drop out of high school, et al. The statistics are offered for the nation as a whole and also for each State, and in various formats (tables, graphs, etc.). The report also lets us know how our care for children stacks up against that provided by other developed nations. An invaluable resource for all who care about our country's children.

A very busy site; parents can exchange information, as well as look up advice of experts in various specialty areas, e.g., ADHD, effect of divorce on children, etc. Big site, lots of ads, best for those used to navigating large web sites with many potential resources.
