How the poll worked:
Teens and preteens voted for
their "top 3" issues with their parents, choosing from
a list of 26 possible issues. (See the
Poll.) The pie
chart above shows which four issues were the top "vote-getters"
in this poll.
All four of the top vote-getters
were very close--"academics" just barely nudged out
"parents don't respect me, treat me like a child" and
"my attitude," with "parents worry about me too
much" running close behind.
Q: Why are all the percentages
of the total vote so low?
A: Because there were so many issues to choose from (26 in all),
and each respondent got to pick 3 instead of only 1.
